Eligibility

To be eligible for a CARES Laptop loan you must be a currently enrolled student at UGA who does not own a personal computer.

If during the course of the loan the patron acquires a personal computer, the laptop should be returned as soon as possible to make it available to other students.

If during the course of the loan the patron withdraws from all classes, the patron is no longer eligible and must return the laptop as soon as possible to make it available to other students.

Loan Length

Each loan covers one academic semester according to the UGA Academic Calendar and is due back no later than two business days after the last day of finals of the loan semester. Checking the laptop out later in the semester does not change the due date. Exchanging the laptop due to malfunction or damage does not change the due date.

There are no renewals for this loan. Loaning laptops need to be updated regularly to stay in good working order. In order to secure the laptop for a subsequent semester, the patron will need to reapply.
