Activities include weaving on a cardboard loom, hand stitching, and learning how to remove stains from fabric. There will be a scavenger hunt, snacks, and a sewist from Community demonstrating on a sewing machine.

Join the Hargrett Library on Thursday, March 20th at 6:00pm for a talk with Sara Idacavage, curator of our newest exhibition From Farms to Fast Fashion: Unraveling the Need for Sustainable Style. Her presentation will detail the history of fashion production, as well as consumption, in the United States, dating back to the 1800s.
This event is free and open to the public; a light reception will follow.

The event will include tours of the gallery, a clothing swap hosted by UGA student group Fair Fashion, demonstrations by fashion designer Pamela James, and light refreshments.
Attendees interested in participating in the clothing swap can bring clothing, shoes, and other accessories to the Large Event Space (Room 285) during the event. The more you bring, the more you can swap!

Join the Lamar Dodd School of Art and the UGA Special Collections Libraries for the annual Jack Davis Lecture on Thursday, November 7 at 6:00PM in the auditorium (Room 271) of the UGA Special Collections Building. This year's lecture will feature animator and director Mack Williams, a UGA alum and 2024 Bulldog 100 recipient. A light reception and pop-up exhibition of highlights drawn from the Hargrett Library's Jack Davis Collection will follow the lecture.
