Politics and Zines: Create Your Own Zine Workshop

Zine Workshop Graphic

| 04:00 pm - 05:30 pm

A zine, short for “magazine,” is a small-circulation self-published work of images and text, usually reproduced on a copy machine. Zines have been a significant medium of communication for fan clubs, artists, and subcultures alike, presenting the opportunity of self-expression for anyone who has access to scissors and paper. Additionally, zines provide an accessible avenue for activists to express personal and political views. On February 9th at 4PM, join UGA librarians at UGA Special Collections in Room 277 for a zine making workshop! Learn from librarians Stacey Piotrowski, Kathryn Manis, and Lydian Brambila about the history of zines, how zines foster community and political expression, as well as the zines that are housed at UGA Special Collections. Then, join us in making our very own zines!
