The Genius of Phillis Wheatley Peters: A Children's Literature and Family Literacy Panel

The Georgia Humanities Council and the Athens-Clarke County Library are proud to present a webinar on representations of Phillis Wheatley Peters in children’s literature, children’s historical texts, and picture books addressing issues pertinent to parents, librarians, and elementary/middle school educators. Speakers featured are Brigitte Fielder, Nicole Cooke, and JoAnn Wood, moderated by Margaret Robbins. This hybrid event is a program in the year long series titled "The Genius of Phillis Wheatley Peters: A Poet and Her Legacies," cosponsored by University of Georgia and TCU. Speakers will be presenting via Zoom. Registrants have the option to attend in person at the Athens-Clarke County Library, online via Zoom, or at a watch party in person at TCU in Palko 130.  There will be book giveaways during the event, so please select where/how you will be attending the event and provide your mailing address for potential future communications.
