Note: Some authors restrict access to their electronic thesis or dissertation for 2 years after graduation. During this period, some theses and dissertations may be either completely restricted or limited to on-campus use. UGA affiliates can view them on campus or through the vLAB service. For UGA Theses and Dissertations, our 1999 - Summer 2001 coverage is partial.
Searching
Search the GIL-Find catalog to find records for both print and electronic dissertations and theses. Make sure to add the keywords “University of Georgia” and “dissertation” or “thesis” to your search in the GIL-Find catalog. You can also limit to Dissertation/Theses using the Format filter on the left. Dissertations and theses up through 2001 are available in print, and are held in our storage facility or in Special Collections.
Requests
Most of the dissertations in UGA Theses & Dissertations are available for public use. If the thesis or dissertation you want is not available online due to age or restriction to on-campus use only, place a request for the dissertation or thesis through your home library’s interlibrary loan department.
Non-UGA visitors can view print copies of dissertations and theses on-campus. To request to view a print copy stored at the Repository, please contact Access Services:

Graduate students submit their completed dissertation or thesis to Proquest. Then, the Libraries adds them to UGA Theses & Dissertations and begins to catalog them in the Gil-Find catalog. They are also listed in WorldCat for interlibrary loan requests to non-UGA users. If you have recently graduated and need more information about the status of your thesis or dissertation, contact the Graduate School at gradinfo@uga.edu
