Join the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library for an evening of tours, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres to celebrate the opening of "Georgia on my Mind: Finding Belonging in Music History." Dress in your favorite band merch and enjoy live musical performances in the gallery from jazz pianist James Weidman, guitarist Skip Taylor, guitarist John Culwell, and hip hop artist Cassie Chantel. Join the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library for an afternoon of family fun highlighting the new exhibit Georgia on My Mind: Finding Belonging in Music History on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Enjoy music classes with Cathy Rumfelt of Allegro Athens that include singing, dancing, movement, and instrument play. Explore the exhibit with a scavenger hunt and immerse yourself in story time in the gallery. This event is free and open to the public. Free parking for off-campus visitors is available at the Hull Street Deck.
Toddler Tuesday is a new program at UGA Special Collections full of story time, music, and crafts! Join us for enriching activities designed for children ages 1-4 years old. This program is free and open to the public, including free parking offered to visitors in the Hull Street Deck. Seats are limited; email jmb18449@uga.edu to reserve your spot.
All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the program.
