Join us on March 24 from 2-3:30PM for Grieving and Making: Wellness in the Makerspace. In this session, we will explore the connection between art and grief by decorating picture frames. Whether you want to share about your loss or simply create amongst others, this program is here to help you navigate grief through creativity. Professionals from the UGA Health Center will be in attendance.
3D Printer Training
Participants will learn basic 3D modeling and how to independently operate the MakerBot Sketch Print 3D Printers and Ultimaker Cura Software from an undergraduate peer. Work is completed through self-paced, online modules and a quiz followed by a hands-on session to learn how to safely operate the 3D printers and use the printing software.
Historic Board Game Night
Join the UGA Special Collections Libraries and the UGA Libraries Student Success Team for a night of games on Tuesday, March 24th from 5:00-7:00PM in the Sidney Samuel Thomas Reading Room at the Miller Learning Center (MLC). Pizza, snacks and drinks will be provided.
At the event we will hear lightning talks (3 minutes) on five historic games from students in Dr. Akela Reason's "Special Topics in Museum Studies" course (HIST 4024/6024). Following this introduction, students in the course will lead play on replica games represented in the holdings of the UGA Special Collections Libraries.
