Film Screening: Saving The Chattahoochee

On Tuesday, August 20th, at 5:30pm, join the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection for a screening of "Saving the Chattahoochee” at the University of Georgia Special Collections Libraries. Following the screening, director and filmmaker Hal Jacobs will discuss the documentary with author and former director of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper Sally Bethea, how the Media Archives assisted with the film, and take questions from the audience.

Opening Reception: Athens Potluck

Join the Hargrett Library on Thursday, August 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for an evening of live music from Charlie and Nancy Hartness and Jill Carnes, drinks, and hors d'oeuvres to celebrate the opening of the new exhibit “Athens Potluck.” Dress in your favorite band merch and enjoy live performances in the gallery. This event is free and open to the public; parking is available in the Hull Street Deck.

Athens Art Book Fair

The Athens Art Book Fair showcases a variety of works on paper produced by dozens of artists and presses from primarily Athens, Georgia and the Southeast. This event is free to the public and will take place on Saturday, June 22nd at the Athenaeum in downtown Athens from 11 am to 4 pm.

Join us to explore a wide variety of techniques and subject matter on display and connect with artists and publishers!
