The UGA Libraries recently entered into two new Read & Publish Agreements with Elsevier and Springer Nature that cover APC charges in hybrid journals for UGA authors. With these new agreements, the list of Open Access publishing opportunities for UGA authors expands to over 7,000 journal titles. When publishing Open Access, authors are typically asked to choose a Creative Commons license under which to publish their article. In this session, we will review the different license types and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each.  We will conclude with highlights from our recent study of UGA Open Access publications, including the citation advantage we found for authors who choose to publish OA.
