The Sidney Samuel Thomas Reading Room is a traditional library space with a maximum capacity of 100. It contains a small non-circulating collection including University of Georgia Press titles, graphic novels, and the Nash Boney collection. It also functions as quiet study space for students.

Make a reservation request. See the full reservation policy for more details.
As an event space, the room is conducive to a small lecture, reading, or possibly a small reception. It is intimate with doors allowing privacy. Since this room is primarily intended for quiet study, it is not readily available as an event space. Exceptions may be made during low building usage times such as weekends, intersession, or summer semester.
The reading room contains eight fixed 10-foot solid cherry tables, 64 leather-bottomed chairs, 36 additional soft seats, and book-lined shelves. The tables are fixed; there is minimal flexibility with the chair arrangement.
The room contains no audiovisual equipment. Contact the Center for Teaching and Learning (706-542-1582 or ctlmedia@uga.edu) to check out portable A/V equipment for your event. (More information about CTL A/V lending and pricing for non-course related events.) There are few electrical outlets in the room and no data ports.
