The Peabody Awards Collection consists almost entirely of copyrighted material. If you are interested in something from this collection, please check if it is available directly from the copyright holder.
Copies of newsfilm, home movies, town films, and some other collections are available upon request, without the need for copyright holder permission. Please contact Ruta Abolins, abolins@uga.edu, for that information.
Research & Stock Footage
Producers and researchers can order stock footage from the Walter J. Brown Media Archive & Peabody Awards Collection by contacting Ruta Abolins at abolins@uga.edu or 706-542-4757.
Screeners
Screeners can be downloaded from digital files in the catalog. If an item has not been digitized request it by going to the "request item" button at the bottom of the catalog record.
Technical Services
If it is necessary to go to an outside vendor for duplication, laboratory or facility will be specified by the Walter J. Brown Media Archives & Peabody Awards Collection. All costs of duplication must be paid by the client. If an item must be digitized to higher resolution, such as 16mm newsfilm, a lab fee of $250.00 will be charged for each clip.
Lab fees
If the archive provides clean content being licensed through another entity, a minimum lab fee of $250 will be charged for the first item requested. Other items will charged at $100-$250 each.
Screen Credit
Unless a waiver is received, the completed work must carry the following credit: [Collection Name], University of Georgia Libraries.
Licensing Fee Schedule
A minimum will be charged for all projects of at least 10 seconds.
